How To Get Ringtones

Hearing a great ringtone can really make your day. You can get ringtones a variety of ways. You can buy them fro your service provider, but that usually gives you a very limited selection. There are also ways to get customized ringtones for free.

The easiest way to get ringtones is to browse the ringtones that your phone probably came with. Most phones nowadays ship with at least a dozen to select from. However, you may not like any of the ringtones provided.

In this case, you can either download ringtones from your service provider, (which usually results in a special charge on your cell phone bill), or you can try to find free ringtones on the internet.

If you search online, there are a number of pages offering free ringtones. You can search by categories, like rap/hip hop, country, rock, etc. If you enter the brand of your phone, ie. "Samsung" and then "free ringtones" in Google, you should be able to find quite a few free ringtones.

Once you've downloaded them from the web to your computer, you need to transfer them onto your phone. This can be accomplished by using infrared transfer, Bluetooth, Memory card transfer, or USB cable. Unfortunately, carriers are increasingly crippling their phones to block adding free ringtones, but if your phone will not allow it, you may be able to find a way around that by doing a little searching online.

Once you've got the free ringtones you want on your phone, simply select them for your incoming calls and enjoy!
