How To Build a Robot

In order to start to develop robot-building skills, you should start with the smallest, cheapest and simplest robot. Choose building a robot that needs practically no technical training at all and you will need only fewer items accessible around the house. In this article, we provide you with some simple steps to build a robot.

Steps:

1. Start by liberating the vibrator from an old pager or cell phone with two wires extended from it. Next step is stripping the last quarter of these wires of any rubber or plastic coating. Stripping is essential to connect them to the watch battery.

2. Next step is cutting off the head of the toothbrush without retaining the handle. After cutting off a piece of the double-sided foam tape, slowly remove the coating from both sides and stick them to the back of head of the toothbrush.

3. After placing the vibrator on the back of the toothbrush head, secure it to the tape. Though you can place it in any side, placing at the end works best.

4. After picking one of the exposed wires from the vibrator and sticking it to the empty side of the tape, make sure that the battery is placed on top of it to form a connection. The battery that has been placed flat on top of the exposed wire should stick to the tape.

5. Also make sure that one exposed wire does not touch the tape or the battery. While touching this wire to the top of the battery, turn the vibrator on.

6. The last process is taking another piece of the foam tape and sticking the other exposed wire to the battery. After doing this, put the robot on a smooth flat surface and observe it move around and turn in circles.

Getting the vibrator in a cell phone or pager is difficult task. You can spot it by its appearance. It might sometimes look like a small watch battery with two wires emerging from it. It also appears cylindrical and is comparatively heavier than other components of its size.
