How To Build a Computer
Materials Required for Building:
Windows XP Installation CD
Motherboard
Central Processing Unit (CPU) with a fan
RAM
Hard drive
CD-ROM or DVD-ROM
Monitor
Processor

Power supply
First get all the components essential for building your computer. You can purchase them from your local computer store.
Always choose a sturdy surface to build your computer. After getting the processor, connect it to your motherboard. Verify whether the processor is well-suited for the motherboard purchased. Lay the processor on the square-shaped slot on the motherboard. You can secure the processor in place using metal clips provided on the motherboard.
After getting your RAM, again confirm if it is compatible with the motherboard. Now put the RAM inside the motherboards slot for the memory. Softly push the RAM into place. A sound of clicking will indicate that the RAM is placed securely.
Next process is installing the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive inside the CPU. The device mounted on a slot and by using screws you can secure the device in place. Verify if the device is stable.
Installing the fan inside the CPU is the next step. After the fan is installed, the hard drive should be placed inside the CPU. Check whether you have mounted the hard drive in place securely. Using cable connect the hard drive to the motherboard.
You can install the power supply using a cable with several connectors for your computer. Remember to connect each end to the motherboard, the hard drive and the fan.
After replacing the cover of the CPU, open the computer for installing the motherboard BIOS. For this, insert the installation CD provided with the motherboard to the disk drive. Finish installation by following the prompts.
For installing extra cards on your computer including video card, sound card etc, place the slots for the cards on the motherboard and connect the cards.
After closing the cover of the computer, the monitor should be connected to the CPU. Then plug the computer and turn on the computer. Put the installation CD for your Operating System and verify if computer is correctly running.
