How To Throw a Football
Steps:
1. Interlace your fingers between the football's laces and seams to grip the football.
2. After protecting the ball by embracing it with both hands, grip it just under your chin while backing to throw.
3. Raise your throwing arm back by bending your elbow.
4. Pull out your free arm in front of you for balancing while pointing the arm and hand at the target.
5. Keeping your shoulders level for a short pass is highly important, while dipping the shoulder of your throwing arm for much longer distances.
6. By shattering your arm forward, gently follow through with your shoulders and hips along with the shifting of your weight to your front foot.
7. Once your arm is somewhat above your head and out to the side, release the ball.
8. Put in velocity and spiral to the ball by flipping your wrist and fingers while releasing the ball.
9. Use your index finger pointing forward and down to finish it so that your palm is facing the ground.
Avoid touching the football with your fingertips as it ensures good spin. Never throw the ball using the palm of your hand. However, using the index finger to throw a spiral is recommended because this is the finger that applies the most leverage in throwing spin on the ball. Without spinning and spiraling, it will just flop end-over-end in the air. Watch out to follow every throw made as throwing hard and frequently without following through increases the risk for injury and mostly tendonitis.
Throwing with the other arm should be avoided and try to keep away from the sack by dumping the ball for a short getaway finishing point. Getting adjusted to different spins on the spiral takes much time for most receivers when trying to throw using both hands.
