How To Kiss

Kissing is such an important ritual. It can be a friendly gesture when greeting friends or relatives, or it can be a passionate romantic gesture. Usually, a friendly kiss is just a peck on the cheek and in some cultures, both cheeks. Then of course there is the air kiss where no actual contact is made. A romantic kiss is a little more complicated, since tongues tend to be involved.

Before you kiss someone in a romantic way, you should be fairly confident that they want to be kissed. You should both feel comfortable with each other. Also, you should be sure that your breath is fresh. Use mints in advance and make sure you've recently brushed your teeth.

If you are sensing that the other person is interested in you in a romantic way, and you are in a suitable setting (a lot of people aren't comfortable kissing in public) then you should just go for it.

If you haven't kissed someone before it's only natural to be nervous about it. There is really no right or wrong way to kiss. Kissing is more of an art. When the moment is right, lean into the person's face and tilt your head, usually to the right. When you go for that kiss, you may want to grab your partner around the waist. Sometimes people even place their hands behind the other person's head. The idea behind this is to pull the person in towards you. Usually you don't want to be too forceful about it.

When your lips first lock, it will feel warm and you will probably get aroused if you are physically attracted to the person. As things heat up, you will find it is natural to open your mouth, which initiates an open mouth kiss.

This leads to tongue play, or French kissing, where the two tongues come into contact. Some people like to make special motions like going around the other person's tongue. Some people like to push their tongue as deep into the other person's mouth as possible. Kissing styles vary, and you just need to go with your instincts. It will also depend on your partner. Some people also kiss their partners neck or other areas of the face. Try to avoid kissing with gum.

Some people like to close their eyes while they kiss, but this is not necessary. If you are good at kissing, this is great foreplay, to get you both aroused and may lead to sex. If you do decide to take that next step, be sure to use protection.
