How To Relieve Gas

Poor digestion is one of the leading causes of gas. When you have gas, you experience bloated and uncomfortable. Gas can often be painful as it causes serious cramping. If you repeatedly feel gas, you have to come across a way that can quickly and safely alleviate it.

Steps:

1. You can purchase a product containing simethicone. When you take simethicone, it breaks up big bubbles of gas.

2. To help relieve gas, you can also take charcoal tablets available over the counter. But it should not be used long term, since it can direct to other health problems.

3. Peppermint is another product that can help trapped gas in the intestines by making its way outside the body.

4. Carry out gas relieving exercise. It helps normalize your bowel habits. Walking and calisthenics are the best options.

5. You can try an antacid as it contains ingredients giving gas relief.

6. To naturally relieve gas, eat ginger. The most effective method is chewing ginger leaves that have been soaked in lime juice.

7. Eat food that contains lots of fiber. Fiber-rich foods - like nuts, oat bran, whole grains, peas, seeds and lentils - will fight that bloating feeling. Potassium rich foods such as soya flour, banana, raisins, ready-to-eat apricots, sultanas, figs, wholemeal pasta and roast potatoes are also good to relieve gas.

8. Keep away from foods that cause gas. Gassy vegetables such as broccoli as well as milk products are the leading sources of gas.

9. Drink plenty of water (eight glasses) during the day. Eat vegetables and fruits, mainly watermelons and orange as they contain 80%-90% water.

10. Avoid sucking on hard candies or chewing on gum as these products can generate gas.

In addition to the above, there are some common measures that alleviate excess gas. Stay away from carbonated beverages, chewing tobacco and smoking.

If you continue to experience painful gas, contact your physician. Ask your doctor about the medicines or supplements you take. Some prescription and over-the-counter drugs may also source gas particularly on the first intake.
