How To Use Movie Maker

Windows Movie Maker that helps in making home movies is easy to be used and has video editing program that allows making automated photo albums and business presentations. Included as part of Windows XP operating system, this free program is a user-friendly tool that enables easy editing your home movies. Here, we provide you with some basics to use Windows Movie Maker.

In order to open the program, opt for the Start menu and click run. After typing moviemk in the text box, tap OK. You can add video in the program for which there are numerous options available like capturing from a device or bringing in video. If video file is already present on your computer, click Import Video and locate it. Within a few seconds, Movie Maker can read the file.

The videos are usually broken into clips. By dragging these to the boxes beneath the screen, you can play it. Selecting all the clips and dragging them down into this area is also easy so that you can arrange them in proper order.

Now, after going to the Tools menu and selecting Titles and Credits, click the option Title at the beginning. To get the movies opening title card, you should type in the text. In order to add a subtitle, insert it in the lower text box. You can even preview the text on the right side of the screen. Now click Done. Add title to movie and you will find that the text becomes a part of your project automatically.

After returning to the Titles and Credits window, click Credits at the end. Here you have to type the names of people in the right-hand cells, and their contribution with your film on the left. You can once again preview in the box on the right side of the screen.

You can add effects to your video by clicking on the star in the bottom left corner of each clip. You can even add a transition between clips or try some added effects. After completing the project, you can save it under the File menu by clicking Save Movie File.
