How To Read Palms

Palmistry or palm reading is an interesting art and science that translates the meanings of lines on the palms. Conventional palmistry advocates that the right hand of men and the left hand of women are to be seen. Though, according to scientific approach, it is significant to see both the hands of a person. The following are some fundamental tips for palm reading.

1. Initially identify the four major lines: the heart line, the life line, the head line and the fate line. The heart line represents romantic tendencies, emotional stability, cardiac health and depression. The life line shows general well being, physical health and main life changing events. The head line signifies intelligence and desire for knowledge; a subjects learning style; and communication style. Known as the line of destiny, the fate line reflects the degree to which a persons life is changed by outer conditions beyond their control.

2. The texture of the hand has to be observed for the back and front of the palm. A coarse texture will show a coarse nature. A soft texture indicates refinement and sensitivity. Calluses will explain that the client is either a hardworking person or has an occupation where he has to work with his hands plenty.

3. The flexibility of the hand represents the adjustable character of the person. The more flexible the hand, the more adjusting his nature is.

4. The shape of the nails offers an insight into the personality traits. Long nails which taper at the tips show creativity. Square nails show orderliness. It is also important to note the skin color under the nails.

5. The color of the hands shows the nature of blood circulation in the body. A pinkish colored hand explains a healthy individual. Yellow denotes excessive bile production. Blue color shows a circulation problem.

6. The mounts are found generally at the base of the fingers. It is important to note the texture, color and firmness of these mounts. Some general information about the mounts:

• The mount at the base of the second finger, the Mount of Saturn, denotes balance, sadness, soberness and wisdom.
• The mount at the base of the index finger is the Mount of Jupiter. It denotes love of nature, religion, leadership and ambition.
• The Mount of Apollo, the mount at the base of the ring finger, represents success, happiness, brilliance and artistic tendencies.
• At the base of the thumb is the Mount of Venus, which shows passion, love and sympathy.
• The mount at the base of the fourth finger is the Mount of Mercury. It shows the clients ability for industry, shrewdness and business.
• The edge of the hand below the base of the Mount of Mercury is the Mount of Moon. It shows selfishness, coldness, imagination and mysticism.
• The middle part of the palm forms the Plain of Mars, showing bravery, courage and aggression.
