How To Make Candles
These are the instructions to make one-piece mold.
Steps:
1. Select your wax, mold and wick at first.
2. The next step is them melting of the wax in a double boiler so that it finally reaches the temperature for pouring.
3. Tilting the mold and pouring the wax gently downwards the sides is the next step. Now you should fill the molding to within a few inches from the top and then slowly tap the mold in order to discharge air bubbles in the wax.
4. Poking a skewer or chop sticking downwards at the side of the wick infrequently will help in releasing air bubbles that are formed there. You should also make sure that the candle shrinks after cooling. Toping off the wax to the original level is also essential.
5. Place the cooled candle to mold by refrigerating it for 10 minutes. After that, you should upturn the mold over a clean towel in such as way that the candle slides out.
6. Holding it only by the wick and then polishing the candle by means of a nylon stocking or spraying it using candle spray is also essential. Then untie the wick. You should then trim the candle to inch above the top.
7. Heating it on a warm skillet or hot plate is also essential. Then allow it to melt until the base is level.
These are the instructions to make two-piece molds:
1. Begin by lubricating both mold halves and filling to the top with melted wax almost and then allow the wax to chill.
2. tying a wick tab to one end of the wick and then pressing it into position on one half of the candle is the next important step.
3. Pouring some heated wax on both halves and pressing them together and removing the mold and finally trimming the wick is important. Now you can insert wick after pouring wax to get your wax ready.
