How To Be a Ninja

Becoming a ninja is a serious commitment that takes plenty of time and effort. It takes a lot more than wearing black and having ninja moves. Being a ninja is a way of life, and you have to make sure you follow these steps to get it right:

1. Live by a moral code. Ninjas are generally not violent unless they have to be in order to defend themselves.

2. Don't let anyone else know that you're a ninja. Don't let anyone see you in ninja clothes. You need to be able to operate as a spy, and that is hard to do if everyone knows you're a ninja.

3. Learn how to make yourself unnoticed. This ability to blend in and not attract attention is important for a ninja.

4. Maintain a decent level of fitness and agility, but don't get too muscular or you'll stand out.

5. Always have a getaway planned. Wherever you are, figure out the escape routes in case you get into trouble. Be prepared to create a diversion. Don't leave any evidence behind.

6. Learn ninjutsu. There are 18 different disciplines in ninjitsu, all designed to help you in your ninja missions.

7. Learn to manipulate people and create outcomes without using violence.

8. Accumulate knowledge, since knowledge is power, and this will make you a powerful ninja.

9. Always maintain self control. Don't let emotions get in the way of decisions you make. Always try to stay rational and level headed.

10. Keep your study and mastery of ninjutsu a secret.

If you follow these steps, you are well on your way to becoming a ninja. If you ever feel that you are straying from the true ninja path, just remember the words of this important ninja saying:

Ours is the tradition of service
to those in need,
Strength to those in distress, and
protection for the meek.
