How To Prevent Mosquito Bites

More than just annoying, Mosquito Bites are also harmful. You should take proper care and safety measures to prevent them.

Steps:

1. You can prevent mosquito bites by using DEET-based insect repellent. Spraying the repellent on exposed skin will prevent mosquitoes bite considerably.

2. Buying clothing pre-treated with Permethrin or using Permethrin spray for trating your clothing can repeal mosquitoes.

3. Choosing light colors such as tan, olive or white are helpful as mosquitoes are less attracted to these colors. Wearing protective clothing is also helpful in relaxing either indoors or outdoors.

4. Avoiding perfumes and body lotions is important that attract mosquitoes.

5. Remove standing water that attracts mosquitoes. Keeping your home clean and not hanging clothes around too long is important. Wash them as soon as possible and putting them back in your cupboard can also prevent mosquitoes.

6. Use mosquito nets to cover your windows have on them. If you have a long panel of windows covering just one or two windows and leaving only them open is required in the evenings.

Citronella candles help in keeping mosquitoes out of an area, though not so efficiently as wind can dispel the smoke and smell rapidly. Since mosquitoes transmit West Nile Virus and other chronic infections, using DEET-based sprays is recommended. However, keep them away from the handling of children and pets.
