How To Prevent Back Problems

A back pain is a common problem that everyone may suffer towards their senior years. Though back pain can be cured with treatments, it is always better to prevent it from occurring.

Steps:

1. Healthy weight: Maintaining a healthy weight is the first important step in preventing back pain. People who are overweight are high risk of back aches. Pregnant women also experience back pains while their term progresses. When you put on extra weight, your spine is affected by more pressure, leading to rigorous back aches. Back aches are mostly experienced in your lower back.

2. Drink lots of water: If you wish to keep your body in good health, it is very much important that you provide your body with sufficient amounts of water. Water not only helps in maintaining the elasticity, but also prevents dehydration in the body, thus avoiding back aches and pains.

3. Good sitting posture: If you have a job that demands sitting for prolonged period, then you should try standing and stretching your back muscles. Avoiding slouching or using a bad posture while sitting is also important. Always remember sitting with your back straight and keeping your arms stretched and relaxed while sitting.

4. Exercise regularly: Getting regular exercise is important in ensuring the health of your bones and muscles. Engaging in physical activities help in keeping your back strong and averts the risks of aches and pains caused as result of the lack of exercise.

5. Good posture while sleeping: Make sure that your back is relaxed while sleeping. Sleeping on your back and avoiding crouching while sleeping is highly important. Sleeping on a solid mattress and making sure that the pillow that you use for sleeping holds your neck and head steadily is also essential.

6. Steps while lifting weight: People who require lifting weights at work or at home should be done with ease. Avoiding jerks to your back is highly important as it can cause spasms afterwards. While lifting things, remember to place your feet separately from each other so as to tighten your abdominal muscles.
