How To Cook Turkey

In order to make your turkey taste juicy, allow it to soak in salted water for a few hours that the salt and the water get into the meat. A non-reactive large spacious container would be needed for brining your turkey. Now place the soaked turkey for refrigeration to about 6 hours after which you need to remove the meat and rinse it thoroughly for a few minutes and pat it dry.
While your turkey is going through the brining process, prepare your oven by pre-heating it to 325 degrees. Now begin the roasting process by placing a foil over the meat with holes to let the circulation of heat. In order to get much tastier and spicier gravy, you can chop the onions, celery and carrots to thyme them along with the meat in the roasting pan. Roast the turkey with a cup of chicken broth or water at the bottom of the pan.
Brush a little melted butter on the meat and place it breast-side-down in the pan and cook for about 45 minutes. The turkey should be cooked with 165-170 degrees F of breast temperature and 175-180 degrees F of thigh temperature. In addition to roasting of turkey, you can also get them grilled, smoked, or fried to form different interesting recipes to give form to cutlets, sausages and bacons. You can even carve them and prepare them with gravy to side dish them with rice and other main dishes. You can even save the bones from the turkey to prepare delicious turkey soups.
