How To Tie a Tie
The Windsor knot is a triangular knot, best suited for wide collar shirts. You don't want to use a thick silk tie for this knot, because the knot will be too big. The following instructions assume that you are right handed. Now let's get started!
Steps:
1. To start out, place the tie around your neck, letting the wide end hang on your right side, and let it hang a few inches lower than the narrow end.
2. Now cross the wide end over the narrow end. This creates 3 regions, your right area on your right side, your left area on your left side and the center area above where the two ends cross (near your neck).
3. Flip the wide end up over the narrow end through the center.
4. Now bring the wide end over to the right area.
5. Move the wide end under the narrow end from the left to the right.
6. Move the wide end up to the center area.
7. Move the wide end below the knot from the center area to the right area.
8. Move the wide end over the front to the left area.
9. Move the wide end below the narrow end from the left to center areas.
10. Move the wide end down and through the loop in front. Be sure the knot is nice and tight now.
11. With one hand pull the narrow end down and with the other, bring the knot up until it reaches the middle of the collar.
Now you should have the perfect windsor knot, so get out there and knock 'em dead!
