You can use social networking such as LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter to help spread the word, but try not to come off as sounding too desperate or pathetic.
Thanks to the internet, you can also post your resume online and browse thousands of openings available around the world using websites such as Monster.com. You can use filters to narrow your job search, and get email alerts when people respond to your resume.
Another great way to look for work other than traditional classified ads is to visit the websites of organizations you're interested in, and see if they have any job postings. A lot of organizations have a career section on their website.
There's one other way to find work, and that's through a head hunter, or recruiter. Recruiters look for talent that's available and match it with employers. You can contact a recruiter and let them know you're available, and they will try to match you with an organization looking for your skills.
You should use as many ways to look for a job as possible to improve your odds.
