How To Shave
First, it depends on how long your facial hair growth is. If you have a full beard, you'll need to trim it down with clippers before using a razor. Now that you've trimmed off the hair so that it's short, you need to use the razor.
Now you should wash your face thoroughly, and if you want, you can use an exfoliating cream. Now apply a warm facecloth to your beard for 30 seconds.
Spray some shaving cream into your palm and rub it into your face in a circular motion, so that it covers the areas you want to shave uniformly.
For the upper section of your beard, shave from the top down in long, even strokes all the way to your jaw-line. For a closer shave, you can pull your skin to make it taut using your free hand. Be sure to rinse your blade after every stroke.
Stretch your front lip over your teeth for the closest shave of your moustache. For the hair under your chin, and on your neck, you should start from the bottom, going against the grain.
Use warm water to wash off any remaining shaving cream and look for spots you missed. With a wet razor shave off any remaining hair.
After your shave, apply a toner (normally containing vitamins and aloe) and then use a moisturizer. Now you should have the perfect shave, and your skin won't be dry or irritated.
Shaving with an electric razor is a bit different. First, choose a razor that is best for your face. The two types are foil and rotary and an expert in a store can help you decide which is best for you.
Now wash your face with a shaving wash, or scrub it. Then dry your face thoroughly. Now apply a pre-electric shave gel. Allow it to sink in until your face is dry.
Use the brush that comes with your shaver to remove stubble from the foil. Now start shaving and begin by going against the grain. Don't rush it, and be sure to take your time, especially around your neck and under your chin.
After your shave, apply some balm or proper aftershave (not cologne). Now you're done!
