Black/negative cable of the car should be attached to the neighboring car with dead battery. You can clamp it to bolt or bracket of the engine or to any metal or unpainted frame or part of the car. Carefully, ground the black/negative cable on the charging car without producing spark.
You can now start the car with dead battery and if there is no response re-adjusting the red/positive clamp by trying to re-clamp to the terminal that offers enhanced connection. Repeat the process of starting the dead car and when it starts running, make sure that you have removed the clamps in reverse order. In order to charge the battery, allow the vehicle to run for few hours. The battery will charge while idling or driving.
Keep in mind that batteries are not in the same place always. While some has battery under the hood, some as them placed behind the cab and even in the trunk.
