These vapors that are build up in required concentration in airtight container offers effective solution. When not in airtight container, the chemicals can destroy adults while larvae continue to feed. Moreover, it also produces a distinctive and unpleasant smell that is very tricky to get rid of even after cleaning. These poisonous must be however kept away from children and pets.

Cedar chests or cedar balls are believed to prevent moth damage. By actually Cedar wood that contain oil can kill small larvae but not large larvae. Therefore, it may not be effective on adult moths. The cedar may even lose the quality after several years of use. Maintaining the chest tightly builds is very much essential in running long usage other than the type of wood used to make it.

In order to prevent moth infestations, regular cleaning is essential. Comprehensive vacuuming under beds and along baseboards, in wardrobes and behind heaters is also of good help. You should empty the bags that have eggs, larvae, or adult moths straight away.
